5 injured in Saturday night crash on Highway 13 south of Gallatin

Five were injured late Saturday night south of Gallatin in the collision of a car and sport utility vehicle.

The driver of the car, 27-year-old Misty Griffin of Chillicothe, and a passenger in the car, 23-year-old Brendon Cosgrove of Trenton, incurred moderate injuries. Another passenger in the car, 2-year-old Hunter Griffin of Chillicothe, received minor injuries.

The patrol reports a passenger in the SUV, 18-year-old Taylor Rash of Polo, had moderate injuries, another passenger in the SUV, 4-year-old Brently Hogan of Jameson received minor injuries.

Brendon Cosgrove was transported to Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph; Misty Griffin and Hunter Griffin to Liberty Hospital; and Taylor Rash and Brently Hogan to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Brently Hogan was taken by private vehicle. The others went by ambulance.

The driver of the SUV, 22-year-old Aubrey Huston of Jameson, was not reported hurt.

The accident happened five miles south of Gallatin on Highway 13 as the car was southbound on Highway 13 when the westbound SUV failed to halt at a stop sign and traveled into the path of the car. The patrol reports the car hit the passenger side of the SUV demolishing both vehicles.

All six persons were wearing seatbelts.
