15-year-old teenager injured in Macon County car crash

In an incident reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a car crash occurred on the evening of March 17, 2024, leaving a teenager injured. The crash happened at approximately 7:55 p.m., two miles west of Clarence on Vine Street Road, within the jurisdiction of Macon County.

A 2009 GMC Acadia, driven by 19-year-old Elijah R. Hartman of Clarence, Missouri, lost control on a gravel roadway. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle veered off the left side of the road and collided with a fence. The impact of the crash led to the destruction of the vehicle, which was later towed by Stills Towing of Macon.

A 15-year-old male passenger, also from the area, sustained minor injuries in the accident. The injured teenager was transported by Macon County Ambulance to Samaritan Hospital for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s report indicated that both the driver and the injured passenger were using seat belts at the time of the incident.
