Another Habitat home is going up in Chillicothe and the local Habitat affiliate is seeking volunteers to help with the final touches. Whatever level of skill you possess, we can find a job for you. Volunteers are needed each weekend from now through the end of August.
The Sam and Katie Ramsbottom family will be receiving this specific Habitat home, being built at the corner of McNally and Normal, upon its scheduled completion in late summer 2016. The Habitat for Humanity Selection Committee chooses homeowners based on level of need, willingness to become partners in the program and ability to repay the no-interest loans within 20 years. Recipients must put in at least 125 hours of sweat equity labor toward the building of the home.
The Chillicothe Area Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian based organization that builds houses for lower income families. The houses are funded by local donors and are built by volunteers and partner families from the community and sold at no profit – no interest to partner families in need. The mortgage payments made by homeowners are used to build more houses.
