Chillicothe Police Department responds to many calls, one involving a knife in a woman’s abdomen

Chillicothe Police Department officers were once again very busy over the weekend responding to a myriad of calls, including a call that included responding to a woman with a knife embedded in their abdomen.

Officers arrested Colton Duncan in the 900 block of Sunnyview on a Lafayette Co Probation/Parole warrant. Duncan was transported to the Police Department where he was processed and transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a male making threats to harm himself in the 1600 block of Rosewood Lane. The male was transported to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment and evaluation.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a telephone scam that occurred in the 100 block of Brunswick. The caller claimed to have pre-qualified the resident for a low-interest loan and the resident gave her personal banking information to the caller. The resident was contacted by her bank a short time later to advise she had been scammed. The Chillicothe Police Department urges residents not to give personal information to anyone over the phone or internet.

Officers assisted the Livingston County Children’s Division on a Hotline call in the 1200 block of Jackson Street.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle non-injury accident in a private parking lot in the 400 block of Park Lane. Officers reported that a vehicle driven by Danielle Regan was northbound in the parking lot and struck a vehicle that was eastbound driven by Robert Jackson causing minor damage.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a suicidal male in the 2700 block of Washington Street. Officers took the male into custody and he was transported to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment and evaluation.

Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle non-injury accident at the intersection of Washington and Park Lane. Officers reported that a vehicle driven by Marietta Hemry was northbound on Washington Street attempting to make a right turn on a red light to go east on Park Lane. Hemry’s vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Brent Barnett that was southbound on Washington Street making a left turn onto Park Lane with a green traffic signal. Officers reported moderate damage to the vehicles.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary and theft from an unlocked detached garage in the 400 block of Dickinson Street. The incident remains under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a suicidal female with a knife in the 400 block of Reynard Street. Officers reported that upon arrival, the female was lying on the front porch with a knife protruding from her abdomen. The female was transported to Hedrick Medical Center by Ambulance for evaluation and treatment of non-life threatening injuries. It was determined that the injury was self-inflicted.
