Trenton police arrest two on tampering, property damage and probation violation

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest on Wednesday of a Trenton man on tampering and property damage charges and a Trenton woman on a probation violation.

Twenty-two-year-old Jonah Newman has been charged with the felonies of first degree tampering with a motor vehicle and first-degree property damage. His bond is $10,000 cash only, and he is scheduled for the Associate Division of Circuit Court May 12th. Court documents accuse Newman of selling a 1998 Ford Ecoline box truck without consent of the owner and damaging the truck by removing a catalytic converter, with damages said to exceed $750.

Fifty-two-year-old Kimberly Jacobs is accused of violating her probation on an original charge of first-degree harassment. The technical violation involves special conditions of allegedly consuming alcohol. No bond amount is listed on court documents. Jacobs is scheduled for Division One of Circuit Court May 14th.
