The Missouri Department of Transportation reports due to recent weather and flooding, the West Locust Creek Bridge on Highway 6 in Sullivan County was reopened.

After establishing a new local detour route to avoid potential flooding, contractors from Boone Construction Company plan to reclose the bridge on Monday, May 13, so that the bridge replacement project can begin.

The new local detour will direct motorists south from Humphreys on Highway 139, east on Route MM to Browning and north on Highway 5. Truck traffic will continue to be detoured from the east near Kirksville on Highway 63 south, to Highway 36 west, or truck traffic can go from the west at Trenton on Highway 65 south, to Highway 36 east.

Due to the delayed start of the West Locust Creek Bridge, MoDOT reports the announced construction to replace the West Yellow Creek Bridge east of Milan, has been postponed. Contractors are working to establish a new schedule.
