The highway patrol reports a Green City man was injured in a two-vehicle accident early Monday evening five miles east of Milan.
Sixty-three-year-old James Heaton of Green City received minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to the Northeast Regional Medical Center of Kirksville. The other driver was listed as 38-year-old Abdoul Nsungula of Kirksville who wasn’t hurt.
Both vehicles were eastbound on Highway 6 when Heaton slowed his vehicle, a Polaris Ranger, to make a left turn while the Kirksville man’s vehicle, a Hyundai Santa Fe, attempted to pass. The impact caused moderate damage to both vehicles and both drivers were using seat belts.
Assistance was provided by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department and Sullivan County Ambulance.
