The Putnam County Democratic Committee sponsors two upcoming events regarding politics at the Putnam County Library in Unionville.
Missouri Democratic Party Chairman Stephen Webber will discuss initiatives on the November ballot next Thursday, October 18th at 6 o’clock in the evening. Initiatives he will talk about include medical marijuana, campaign financing, and the gas tax.
A screening of Kimberly Reed’s political film “Dark Money” will be held at the Putnam County Library the night of October 23rd at 6:30. The Sundance Film Festival-nominated film explores campaign financing and the effects of the “Citizens United” Supreme Court decision. The screening is in collaboration with PBS’s award-winning non-fiction film series POV.
The ballot initiative discussion and film screening are free and open to the public.
