A Milan man was hurt Saturday night south of Green City when the sports utility vehicle he was driving ran off Highway 129 and hit a utility pole.
The highway patrol reports 48-year old Chet Moore received minor injuries and was to seek treatment on his own.
Moore later was arrested and accused of driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain the right half of the road resulting in an accident, and no proof of insurance.
The accident took place five miles south of Green City on Highway 129 as the northbound sports utility vehicle traveled off the road and hit a utility pole while Moore was attempting to avoid an animal on the road.
The vehicle was demolished and Moore was wearing a seatbelt.
