The Highway Patrol reports a car hit the rear of a truck stopped in traffic Monday afternoon in Linn County, injuring two occupants of the car.

Taken by ambulance to the Pershing Memorial Hospital of Brookfield were 23-year-old Emily Plymell and her son, 1-year-old Maverick Plymell both of Bucklin. The report listed the driver with moderate injuries and the young passenger with minor injuries.

A trooper accused Ms. Plymell with failure to yield as the car had struck the rear of a Freightliner truck operated by 31-year-old Bobby Grafton of Meadville.

The accident report noted the truck had stopped on Highway 5 behind a school bus which had its stop arm extended. The location was two miles north of Marceline.

All vehicles were northbound. Damage was listed as minor to the truck while the car was demolished. All persons were using safety devices.
