Grundy County Clerk announces last-minute election filings

The Grundy County Clerk’s Office announced that Jimmy Shaw of Trenton has entered the race for Second District Commissioner, filing as a Republican on March 26 for the August 6 Primary Election. This latest filing adds to the competitive field, with Bryan Johnson and Brad Chumbley previously declaring their candidacy for the same position as Republicans.

The race for First District Commissioner is also heating up, with Don Sager and Kevin Ireland both filing as Republicans. These filings contribute to a busy election season in Grundy County.

Additional Republican filings for Grundy County positions include Dewayne Slater for Coroner, Adria Moore for Public Administrator, Rodney Herring for Sheriff, Nathan Curtis for Assessor, and Michelle Geib for Collector-Treasurer. The deadline for candidates to file for the August 6 Primary Election was March 26.
