Filing deadline for August Primary Election is March 31st

Filing for the August Primary Election will be held on February 25th through March 31st.

Seven Grundy County offices are required to file this year for new terms in 2021: First and Second District commissioners, assessor, collector/treasurer, coroner, public administrator, and sheriff.

Candidates will need to fill out a Form 5120, have it notarized, and mail it to the Missouri Department of Revenue before filing with the Grundy County Clerk.

Candidates will need to bring a copy of the form and a receipt of payment for filing dues to their respective party when filing for office. A copy of Form 5120 can be picked up at the county clerk’s office or found online. A list of political party members can also be picked up at the county clerk’s office for contacting the political party.

Anyone wishing to sign up to be committeepeople for their township can come to the Grundy County Clerk’s office during business hours from February 25th to March 31st. A Presidential Primary Election will be held on March 10th.

Absentee voting will begin January 28th, with the last day to register to vote for the Presidential Primary is February 11th. In the Municipal Election April 7th, the final day to register to vote is March 11th.
