Gilman City woman injured in Highway 146 crash

A Gilman City resident, 33-year-old Denise Wilgus, received what the highway patrol called minor injuries in a single vehicle accident Monday.

She was taken by ambulance to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany.

At mid-afternoon, Ms. Wilgus was driving southbound on Highway 146 when according to investigators, the car failed to make a curve, went off the west side of the road, the driver over-corrected causing the car to come back across the road, go off the east side where it struck a highway sign.

The driver was using a seat belt and the car was demolished in the accident six miles southeast of Bethany. The accident happened on Highway 146, at Route MM.

Harrison County sheriff’s department assisted at the scene.
