A scenario involving an active shooter will be the focus of training Friday, August 19th at North Central Missouri College in Trenton.

The training is offered by NCMC in cooperation with Grundy County Emergency Management, Trenton Police, Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Trenton Fire Department, Grundy County Ambulance, and the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency.

The drill on Friday is designed to enhance the preparedness of faculty and emergency responders in the event that a situation of this magnitude was to occur on the college campus. The drill begins at 8 o’clock and concludes by noon.

The public is encouraged to avoid the area of the NCMC campus due to congestion from emergency vehicles. During the time of the event, certain streets in Trenton will be closed:

  • Main Street will be closed from Crowder Road to West 12th Street
  • Cedar Street will be closed from Crowder to West 12th Street
  • Mable Street will be closed from Crowder to East 12th Street

Also closed are the NCMC Campus, bookstore, and offices until at least 10 o’clock. Ketchem Community Center will be closed from 7:30 until 10 o’clock.

There will be no parking in the Geyer Hall lot on Friday, August 19th.
