Among cases Tuesday in the Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court, preliminary hearings were waived by two defendants.
Those cases were bound over to the Division One court docket October 12. Donald Eugene Savage of Leisure Lake is charged with felony third-degree domestic assault. Jeremy Hamilton of rural Trenton is charged with felony driving while intoxicated.
Among other cases, a plea agreement was approved by the court to allow James Lewellen of Trenton to plead guilty to an amended count of misdemeanor driving without a valid license. Another charge was dismissed. Lewellen was sentenced to serve 20 days confinement in the Grundy County Jail. He was given credit for serving one day and remanded for the remaining 19 days.
Novinger resident Andrew Kelso pleaded guilty to the amended information on a misdemeanor charge of non-support and the court followed the plea agreement and suspended imposition of a sentence – placing Kelso on two years probation under the supervision of Child Support Enforcement.
