A Chillicothe resident sustained injuries when the car she traveled in struck a deer about three miles east of Cowgill Friday evening.
The Highway Patrol reports 20-year-old Justin Frazier of Chillicothe drove east on Missouri 116 when the car hit the deer, traveled across the center line, ran off the south side of the road, and struck and traveled through a fence before coming to rest facing east. The vehicle received extensive damage.
A private vehicle transported passenger 19-year-old Amanda Frazier to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe with minor injuries. The Patrol reports Justin Frazier did not sustain injuries.
The Patrol also reports he wore a seatbelt at the time of the accident, while Amanda Frazier did not.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department and the Cowgill Fire Department assisted at the scene.
