On U-S 69, three miles south of Pattonsburg yesterday morning, 18-year-old Georgia Caldwell of Winston received what the patrol called minor injuries in an accident.
Her southbound SUV she was driving crossed the centerline and went off the left side of the highway, struck an embankment and utility pole, coming to rest in a field.
The patrol said she did not seek immediate medical treatment.
The sports utility vehicle received extensive damage. Georgia Caldwell was wearing a seat belt.
