Trenton R-9 School District will hold Veteran’s Day assemblies at two different buildings, during two different times, this coming Friday, November 9th.
Rissler Elementary School has their Veteran’s program at 8 o’clock Friday morning in the gymnasium and is open to veterans and military personnel.
Trenton Middle School and Trenton High Schools are inviting Veterans to a student-led program Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the commons. Student organizations and the vocal music department will present a tribute to honor Veterans with the activity running until 2:45.
The schedule includes coffee beginning at 1:30 hosted by the Key Club and its Builders Club. When veterans arrive, they are asked to check in at the school district office and share the name of the student that invited them. Those students will then be allowed to escort the Veteran to the coffee and there will also be lemonade and cookies.
The schedule includes social time to view some student-created tributes to Veterans. The musical tribute will include members of the TMS and THS vocal department.
An open invitation has been extended to all Veterans to attend the program Friday afternoon.
