Assistance for veterans will be available in Trenton in May on two dates and locations.
A Veterans Service Officer will be at Trenton Hy-Vee Monday, May 6th from 9 am to 1 pm to help with VA paperwork and answer questions. Persons planning to visit with the officer are asked to take a copy of the DD-214, and all VA paperwork.
On May Friday, May 10th, a Veterans Service Officer and Vet Center counselor will be at the Trenton VFW Post 919 starting at 8 o’clock that morning. The counselor helps with PTSD, and readjustment counseling. Discharged, and active military also are welcome.
For a ride on the Trenton-based VA shuttle for medical appointments, call Wayne Kleinschmidt of Trenton at 660-359-2078. The shuttle travels to Kansas City VA every Wednesday. Those arranging for a ride will need to give their name, the last four of their social security number, the date of travel, the destination, and how many people will ride.
