Chrysler and freightliner involved in I-29 crash near Savannah

An early morning accident on Interstate 29, approximately seven miles north of Savannah, Missouri, resulted in serious injuries for a man. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at around 10:50 a.m. on March 1, 2024.

The incident involved a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by Jordan A. Ramos, 22, of Oregon, Missouri, and a 2021 Freightliner, operated by Ramone D. Reaves, 31, of Flint, Michigan. According to the highway patrol, the Freightliner was merging back into traffic from the northbound shoulder when the Chrysler, which was in the passing lane, attempted to merge into the driving lane and collided with the rear of the Freightliner.

Ramos, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mosaic St. Joseph by Andrew County Ambulance. The Freightliner sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene, while the Chrysler suffered total damage and was towed by Blue Knight.

Both drivers were heading northbound on Interstate 29 at the time of the incident. The crash was assisted by the Andrew County Sheriff’s Department, Andrew County Fire, and Andrew County Ambulance.
