United Way to begin door-to-door canvassing

The United Way of Grundy County will begin door-to-door residential canvassing Sunday to raise money for the upcoming year.

Money collected will be used to support member organizations in the county. Those include 4-H, Girl Scouts, RSVP, the food pantry, Parents as Teachers, the North 65 Center, the Children’s Advocacy Center, Juvenile courts and Diversion programs, University of Missouri Extension, Green Hills Community Action Agency, and Wright Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Forensic Nurses.

United Way also provides grant money to other not-for-profit organizations in the county.

The organization will be at Hy-Vee next Thursday and Friday to kick off the month and will sell Hy-Vee coupon cards for $10. The coupon cards will offer buy one, get one deals and cash off purchases and are valued at about $40.
