A Marceline resident was hurt when a tractor-trailer unit hit a sport utility vehicle on Highway 5 north of Marceline. The Highway Patrol said 38-year old Shaun Woodard of Marceline was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield with moderate injuries. Woodard was a passenger in the SUV driven by 34-year old Amanda Woodard of Marceline. She was not reported hurt.
The truck driver, 54-year old Mark Bauer of Chillicothe, Illinois, was not reported hurt.
The accident was Friday morning at Highway 6 and a Highway 36 off-ramp north of Marceline. The investigating officer said the eastbound truck failed to yield and hit the driver’s side of the northbound SUV. The SUV was demolished and the tractor-trailer unit had moderate damage. All three people were wearing seat belts.
