Two teenagers received minor injuries when their vehicle traveled off Highway 13 and overturned Sunday night in Caldwell County.
According to the highway patrol, the driver, 17-year-old Wyatt Curp of Polo, was taken to Liberty Hospital. His passenger, 17-year-old Hailyn Park of Hamilton, was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. The report noted both occupants were using seatbelts.
The state patrol reports the northbound pickup traveled off Highway 13, returned to the road where the driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to spin and slide. The pickup then traveled off the other side of the highway, went down an embankment, and overturned, striking a fence and tree line, coming to a stop on its wheels.
The pickup was demolished in the accident just before 9 o’clock Sunday night approximately four miles south of Kingston.
The highway patrol was assisted by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department.
