Two teenage boys received what the highway patrol called serious injuries in a roll over accident yesterday in Nodaway County.

The highway patrol said the driver of a pickup was 16-year-old Dustin Verbick of Maryville. 15-year-old Maverick Price of Parnell was a passenger. Both were taken first to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville; then flown by medical helicopter to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

The report noted the driver lost control of the pickup on Katydid Road, allowing it to travel off the southbound side of the road where it overturned coming to rest upright.

The pickup was demolished in the 12 noon accident Thursday, three miles east of Maryville.

Both boys were using seat belts, according to the report.
