Two Princeton boys hurt in ATV Accident

Two Princeton boys were hurt Saturday evening when an all terrain vehicle hit a tree on private property at Princeton.

A passenger, ten year old Andrew Matthews, was transported to Wright Memorial Hospital at Trenton and, later flown by medical helicopter to Childcare’s Mercy Hospital at Kansas City with serious injuries.

The operator of the ATV, ten year old Triston Jennings of Princeton, was taken to Wright Memorial with moderate injuries.

The boys were traveling on an ATV trail on private property, when the machine veered off the trail hitting a tree, throwing the operator from the vehicle.

The patrol reports neither boy was wearing a safety device, and there was extensive damage to the ATV.
