The Highway Patrol reports two Jameson men sustained moderate injuries in a three-vehicle accident three miles north of Cameron on Wednesday morning.

The driver of a pickup truck, 60-year-old Christopher Nelson, and his passenger, 22-year-old Dylan Nelson, were transported by ambulance to the Cameron Regional Medical Center. The driver of a car, 53-year-old Donald Jennings of Bethany, and the driver of another pickup, 45-year-old Jason Estes of Winston, were reported as not injured.

The car and Estes’s truck were stopped on southbound U. S. Highway 69 north of 100th Street waiting for a bus to load when Christopher Nelson failed to observe the vehicles. The Nelson pickup collided with the rear of the car, and the car was pushed off the west side of the road before the Nelson truck collided with the rear of Estes’s truck. The pickups came to rest on their wheels on southbound U. S. 69 facing south, and the car came to rest on its wheels in the ditch facing north.

The Nelson pickup and the car were totaled, and Estes’s pickup received minor damage. The three drivers wore seat belts, while Dylan Nelson did not.
