Several defendants were bound over to Thursday docket in Division One of Grundy County Circuit Court after waiving preliminary hearings Tuesday, March 14, 2016

Among them are 43-year old Patrick Shaun Michael, 34-year old Robert Brandon, 18 year old Colby Weaver, 33-year-old Timothy Nguyen, and 48-year old David Cooley all of Trenton as well as 58-year-old Linda Sue Wilcox of Spickard.

Michael waived hearings on charges of possession of a controlled substance and resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony. Misdemeanor cases certified to Division One of Circuit Court accuse Michael of two violations of orders of protection for an adult; and one count of violating a child protection order.

Brandon waived hearings on charges of delivering a controlled substance.

Cases involving Brandon that were certified to the higher court are driving while revoked or suspended, second or subsequent offense and failure to register a motor vehicle.

Weaver faces charges of sexual misconduct or an attempt involving a child under 15.

Nguyen faces three counts: resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, and tampering with a motor vehicle.

Cooley is charged with second offense violation of protection order for an adult.

Linda Wilcox is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

Again each of these cases advances to Division One for arraignments.

Among other cases processed Tuesday in the Associate Division of court:

50-year-old Willie Junior Harris of Leisure Lake pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated. Imposition of sentence was suspended and Harris was placed on two years probation. He’s to pay recoupment fees, court costs and make a $100 donation to the Grundy County law enforcement fund. A plea agreement was filed in the case.

31-year-old Jamesport resident, Johnathan Smiley, pleaded guilty to two counts of non-support while two other counts were dismissed in open court by the state.

A plea agreement was filed and Smiley also was placed on two years probation and assessed court costs in the case. A charge against Smiley of driving while revoked or suspended was scheduled for a court trial on April 25.

21-year-old Sheena Hope Anderson admitted to a violation of probation stemming from an original charge of endangering the welfare of a child. The court then extended by one year the term of her probation.

Trenton resident Erin Carriker, age 40, was given a court order to pay restitution stemming from damages in a traffic accident. The court ruled payment of $3,575 is to be made to the Grundy County prosecuting attorney’s office.

Guilty pleas were made yesterday to failure to drive on the right half of the road resulting in an accident, operating a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility, and failure to register the vehicle. Fines and court costs were assessed in each case.
