Tuesday accident injures Chula teen on Highway 65

The highway patrol reports a Chula resident was hurt when the car she was driving hit the rear of a pickup truck that was slowing for an oncoming emergency vehicle.

18-year-old Katlyn Hamilton of Chula was taken to Hedrick Medical Center at Chillicothe with minor injuries.

The driver of the pickup, 19-year-old Derek Eckert of Chillicothe, was not reported hurt.

The accident happened Tuesday, April 5th one mile south of Farmersville on highway 65.

The pickup and car were southbound on Highway 65 when the pickup slowed to yield to a northbound emergency vehicle, when the car driven by Ms. Hamilton hit the rear of the pickup.

Damage was described as moderate to the car and minor to the pickup truck.

Both persons were wearing seat belts.
