Trooper serving in St. Joseph and native of Trenton promoted to lieutenant

Captain Clark N. Stratton, commanding officer Troop H, in St. Joseph announced the following promotion effective January 1, 2022.

Sergeant Michael P. Quilty, Troop H, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant and remains assigned to Troop H, St. Joseph, Missouri.

Quilty was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1997, as a member of the 73rd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop H, Zone 2, Nodaway, and Worth counties. Quilty was promoted to corporal in December 2002, and designated assistant zone supervisor of Troop H, Zone 3, Gentry, and Harrison counties. In October 2004, he was promoted to sergeant and designated zone commander of Troop H, Zone 1, Atchison, and Holt counties.

Lieutenant Quilty was born in Trenton, Missouri, and graduated from Trenton High School. He received his associate degree from North Central Missouri College, Trenton, Missouri, in 1995. He graduated from Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph, Missouri, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in criminal justice in 1996. Lt. Quilty is married and has two children.
