The United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri Tammy Dickinson announces the indictment of an employee working under contract with the U. S. Postal Service for stealing mail.

Kristen McIntyre, 37, of Trenton was charged by a federal grand jury in Kansas City Tuesday.

The indictment says McIntyre worked as a highway contract route driver for a trucking company under contract with the postal service and transported mail to and from post offices in Trenton, Spickard, Princeton, and Mercer and to Chillicothe.

She allegedly stole mail, including money and gift cards, between August 18th and September 15 of 2016.

Dickinson says evidence supporting the charge must be presented to a federal trial jury who will determine McIntyre’s guilt or innocence.

The U. S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General investigated the case.
