The highway patrol reports a Trenton teen received a minor injury in a rollover accident this morning on Northwest 5th Street just outside of the city limits by one and a half miles.

The highway patrol said 16-year-old Aaron Farrell declined treatment at the scene. Neither he nor his passenger, 16-year-old Lane Winsor of Trenton, was wearing a seat belt when the accident happened before 8 o’clock.

An investigator reports the crash occurred when the eastbound car slid on loose gravel causing Farrell to lose control; then over-corrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the north side of the road, where it overturned and struck a tree. The car came to rest on its top. The report listed vehicle damage as extensive.

Grundy County Emergency Medical Services also responded to the scene.
