Trenton schools begin classes with 16 less students than previous year

The Trenton R-9 School District had a first-day enrollment of 1098 students, which is down 16 students compared to opening day last year.

The 8th grade is the largest class with 101 students, the first grade is the smallest class reporting 65 students. The Kindergarten class has 68 enrolled with all other grades at Trenton reporting 80 or more students.

The high school reports in with 353 students enrolled, there are 353 students in grades 5 through 8 at the middle school, and 392 students in Kindergarten through 4th grade at the elementary school.
