The Trenton Rotary Club will continue to display flags during the Missouri Day Festival weekend next month.

The flags–both American and Missouri– will be mounted on poles along Main Street, Ninth Street and 17th Street as well as a portion of Oklahoma Avenue near the Festival entrance.

The Missouri Day parade route is the main emphasis of the flag display. The two types of flags will be alternated on the poles and displayed from Friday morning until Sunday evening the weekend of October 20th through 22nd.

The flags were originally sponsored by various Businesses, Organizations, and Individuals for three years. The original sponsorships have expired. and we are requesting individuals and businesses to continue their support of this important and patriotic endeavor.

Flag sponsorship can be extended for another 3 years for $50 each. Names of sponsors will be promoted through the media. Each flag is 4 feet by 6 feet and made of nylon. Trenton Rotarians are encouraging patrons to honor loved ones with flags in memory of, or in honor of veterans, families, or businesses/organizations.

Renewal notices are to be sent to past flag sponsors along with information needed to extend their sponsorship. Persons interested in new sponsorship or having any questions regarding sponsorship extensions may contact Cara McCellan at American Family Insurance (at 660-359-3973) or Brian Upton at Raymond James Financial Services (at 660-359-2250. )

Local Rotarians will be placing and removing the flags as a community service. These flags are described as offering a welcoming sight to parade participants, viewers and everyone attending the Missouri Day Festival.
