The Trenton Rotary Club heard a presentation from Taya Ray of the Green Hills Recreation Association at its meeting Thursday.

Ray said the association sponsored participation in baseball, softball, and basketball with more than 200 youth from preschool to middle school participating.

This year’s baseball/softball season will start later this month with opening ceremonies planned at Burleigh Grimes Field the evening of April 28th at 5 o’clock.

Games will start May 3 and continue through June.

Ray said there are 22 local teams participating as part of the Harrison County League, which allows older youth to play against teams from other communities.

She added that the Green Hills Recreation Association is starting its second year.

During the business meeting, Diane Lowrey updated members on the Shoes for Orphan Souls project.

Donations will be taken until the April 20 meeting and donated shoes will be taken for distribution to Guatemala.
