Trenton residents arrested after Friday night gun incident

Two Trenton residents are in custody following a confrontation on Friday night that led to shots being fired.  It reportedly followed a domestic disturbance earlier in the day.

Forty-six year old Kimberly Ann Maxwell is facing four felony counts : Unlawful use of a firearm, Armed criminal action, Second-degree assault on Tyler King, and Stealing a handgun belonging to King.

Twenty-five year old Tyler Dillon King faces two felony counts : Unlawful use of a weapon and Armed criminal action.

Sheriff Rodney Herring reports King and Kimberly Maxwell’s daughter were involved in a dispute on Friday.  Later, King and Kimberly Maxwell agreed to meet at the entrance to the rock quarry west of Trenton.  At least one shot was allegedly discharged by both people, at one another, according to Sheriff Herring.  Nobody was hurt and nothing was hit in the exchange of gunfire.  Herring told KTTN it was King that came to the Grundy County Law Enforcement Center to report the incident to authorities.

Charges were filed by Grundy County Prosecuting Attorney Carrie Lamm-Clark.

Both defendants will appear Tuesday, September 13th in the Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court.  Cash bond was set at $100,000 for Kimberly Maxwell and $50,000 for Tyler King.
