Trenton R-9 school district hires new staff members

Among the new hires for next year in the Trenton R-9 school district is Amy Franklin, originally from Mount Ayr, Iowa. She will take the business teaching position replacing Mitch Holder who will become director of the vocational school in Marshall.

Mrs. Franklin, a graduate of Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, has taught 12 years in the Pleasant Hill school district. She is the wife of Trenton High School Principal Ron Franklin. Amy Franklin also will be the sponsor for Future Business Leaders of America as well as a coach for THS football cheerleaders.

New hires for Rissler School were announced by the Trenton R-9 school office following an executive session for personnel last evening.

Megan Daniels and Bradley Ewald as elementary teachers and Lily Pyrtle as the elementary school librarian. Megan Daniels, who has family in Trenton, is a Northwest Missouri State University graduate now student teaching in Lawson. Brad Ewald is a THS grad, was graduated from Graceland University, and is student teaching in Cameron. Lily Pyrtle is originally from Chillicothe, MU graduate, and currently librarian in the Slater, Missouri school district.

The school board also approved several staff members as coaches or sponsors; plus the Trenton Summer school staff including teachers, para professionals, a nurse, and cooks.
