The Trenton R-9 School District today announced the cancellation of classes on Friday when the girl’s softball team competes in the final four state tournament at Springfield.

Superintendent Dan Wiebers said the cancellation of schools allows an opportunity for R-9 students and staff to attend and not miss classes. The announcement includes the Trenton R-9 pre-school and the Success Center.

Wiebers said the Bright Futures Trenton breakfast scheduled Friday morning will continue as planned and is to be held in the Trenton high school gym. The meal is scheduled from 7 to 8 o’clock on Friday morning. The Trenton High School girls semi-final softball game begins at 2 o’clock Friday in Springfield with the game to be broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3

Wiebers also reports the Rissler school staff is attempting to reschedule the 4th grade trip to Shatto Dairy and the Kindergarten Fun Day at Crowder State Park. Announcements are to be made about the rescheduled dates for these activities.
