The Trenton Police Department announces the inaugural Blue Line Ladies, Youth Law Enforcement Academy.

The Blue Line Ladies Academy is an opportunity for young ladies throughout our region to explore a career in criminal justice in a safe and educational environment.

The program is offered to young ladies who will be a freshman extending to seniors in high school during the upcoming school year.

The seminar, scheduled for Saturday, July 30th, at the Grundy County Law Enforcement Center will be offered free of charge. Class time begins at 12:00 p.m. and runs until 8:30 that evening with lunch provided. A graduation celebration pool party and dinner at the Trenton Aquatic Center will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Some of the topics covered at the Blue Line Ladies Academy will include:

Patrol, e/911 Communications, Traffic Enforcement, Investigations, Crime Scene Investigations, Community and Problem Solving Policing, Criminal Prosecution, Probation and Parole, Law Enforcement Equipment, Juvenile Justice and Criminal Justice Education.

All attendees will need to have a liability waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Class size is limited to the first 15 registrants

Each student will receive hand-outs, a Certificate of Attendance, and a photo of their experience.
