Chief Tommy Wright reports that on Friday, March 11th, 2016, Officers from the Trenton Police Department participated in an underage alcohol compliance check of local businesses.

The operation was in participation with the Midland Empire Alcohol Task Force, based out of St. Joseph Missouri, and utilized minor employees of the task force to attempt to purchase alcohol from local business. If alcohol was sold to the minor, officers would enter the store and issue citations to the business employee.

During the operation an employee of Main Stop was cited for serving alcohol to a minor. There were approximately fifteen locations that did not sell alcohol to the minor.

Additionally the Chief indicated that this operation demonstrated a huge improvement over the November 2014 operation in which nearly 50% of businesses contacted sold alcohol to a minor. Wright also indicated that this operation was a follow up to the Responsible Alcohol Server training held in February 2016.

The Trenton Police would like to thank and congratulate all of the businesses who did not sell alcohol to a minor during the operation.
