A Milan couple faces multiple charges in Grundy County including the passing of alleged $50.00 counterfeit bills at two Trenton businesses last week.

Fifty-one-year-old Michael Dean Courtney and 48-year-old Georgeanna Kay Courtney were arrested by Trenton Police on Friday. Each has a $20,000 cash bond pending their appearances Tuesday in Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court.

Michael Courtney is accused of acting in concert with Georgeanna Courtney on three counts of forgery, passing counterfeit bills at ShopKo and Hardee’s on May 9th and 10th. He also faces a separate drug possession charge that accuses him of having morphine sulfate and oxycodone hydrochloride.

His wife, Georgeanna Courtney, is a defendant in a five-count court case. She’s accused of acting in concert with Michael Courtney, on the same three forgery counts, plus one count of possessing four $50.00 counterfeit bills with the alleged purpose of using them as genuine to defraud. Her other charge is alleged misdemeanor stealing of a (Serta) air mattress at ShopKo.
