The Trenton High School instrumental music department had four ratings of two during the state solo and small ensemble judging yesterday at Columbia.

They were received by four soloists; Jose Barron the fourth on trumpet, Jasmyn French on tuba, Jaima Knight on flute, and Claire Utley on violin.

A saxophone sextet from Trenton received a rating of three.

Trenton instrumental music teacher Tim Gilham said Trenton had some very well prepared and expressive performances at Columbia, however no number one ratings to show for it. Gilham said he’s proud of the efforts the students put into their music.
