The 2024 FCCLA National Leadership Conference (NLC) held in Seattle from June 29 to July 3 attracted over 8,000 students, educators, and guests nationwide. The conference provided a platform for attendees to enhance their leadership skills, showcase their talents, explore career pathways, and hear from inspiring speakers.

A key highlight of the conference was the Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Event, which saw over 4,300 FCCLA members competing. These events recognized students for their proficiency and achievements in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation. The collaboration between youth and adults in managing and evaluating the events allowed students to gain practical skills and valuable insights.

STAR Events play a critical role in student development by enriching their classroom experience and steering them toward successful career pathways. With more than 30 events, participants had the chance to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities by addressing essential issues related to families, careers, or communities. Through researching topics and implementing projects to advocate for positive change, students acquired essential skills and industry insights needed to thrive in the 21st century.

Representing Trenton Middle School FCCLA at the conference were Alexis Bundridge, Tony Esquivel, Eva Pagel, and Turner Wagner. Each student competed in different STAR Events and achieved notable success.
