Trenton Middle School announces Spelling Bee winners

The Trenton Middle School Spelling Bee was held Wednesday morning with winners and alternates selected to compete at the Grundy County Spelling Bee, set for 1:00 PM January 30, 2020, at Trenton Middle School.

The fifth-grade winner was Graeme Sager with the word “nervous.” The 5th-grade runner up is Colton Ledbetter and the alternate is Micah Clear. Titus Kottwitz was the 6th-grade champion spelling the word “trembling.”  Brianna Wheelbarger was the runner up and Garrison Otto was the alternate.

The winning word in the 7th-grade bee was “scattering” with Josh Truitt named the champion speller.  Colton Hammond took second place and Shay Turner is the alternate. Zane Michael won the 8th-grade bee with the word “obstacles.”  Ava Frazier was the runner up and Shayla Chapman is the alternate.
