The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Trenton man on felony charges of violation of a protection order for an adult, second offense; third-degree assault, special victim; and resisting or interfering with arrest for a felony.

Thirty-seven-year-old Lucas Griffin was arrested Thursday and he is scheduled for the Associate Division of circuit court March 14. His bond has been set at $15,000 cash only.

Court documents accuse Griffin of knowingly violating the protection order by entering where the person was, and pleading guilty to two charges of violating the protection order in Grundy County Court, which occurred within five years of the date of the offense.

Documents also accuse Griffin of knowingly causing physical injury to Trenton Police Department Officer Keith Vance by kicking him with cowboy boots, resisting, pulling away, and refusing multiple commands from Officer Vance and Sergeant Larry Smith for the purpose of preventing them from effecting the arrest.
