Trenton and Grundy County rural firefighters responded to the 9th Court and Grant Street area late Wednesday afternoon where a tree owned by Nelda Kroll caught on fire.
Lieutenant Jeremy Summers explained brush was being burned in an open lot when embers caught the top of a dead tree on fire at nearby 912 Grant Street.
Firefighters were assisted by Trenton Municipal Utilities utilizing a bucket truck as power lines were nearby.
Firefighters were on the scene about one hour.
