The Trenton Fire Department reports a fire caused moderate damage to a small attached structure at 208 West 8th Street in Trenton Tuesday morning.

Firefighter Derek Hert says upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and fire coming from the exterior of the structure owned by Steven Muff and occupied by Bob Morgans.  Crews deployed a one and three-quarter-inch hose line to extinguish the fire. After the fire was out, crews checked for fire extension, found no extension, and cleared smoke from the building.  There were no injuries, the State Fire Marshal was notified, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District, Trenton Police Department, Grundy County Ambulance, and Trenton Municipal Utilities assisted.

The Trenton Fire Department was on scene about 90 minutes.
