Cade Claycomb of the Trenton FFA chapter has been named a national finalist for the Dairy Production Entrepreneurship Agricultural Proficiency Award this year. Only four FFA members nationwide are selected as national finalists in each agricultural proficiency award area. Cade will interview for the opportunity to be named the national winner in the Dairy Production Entrepreneurship category and will be recognized during the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana.
As part of his Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project, Cade operates a herd of registered Jersey cattle. He was previously honored as the Missouri winner of the Dairy Production Entrepreneurship Agricultural Proficiency Award.
Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences, develop specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers. Students compete in areas ranging from agricultural communications to wildlife management. These proficiency awards are also recognized at local and state levels, providing recognition to members exploring and establishing themselves in various agricultural career pathways.
