Among reports given at last night’s meeting of the Trenton City Council City Administrator Ron Urton said sealing work has been completed at the Trenton airport.  The contractor is expected to return in the spring to touch up areas and seal two areas by hangars.

Urton said the Trenton Street Departments’ asphalt plant has been shut down for the winter season. Total tonnage sold to Missouri Department of Transportation and private contractors exceeded 13,600 tons. The margin of profit as of October 19th was listed by the city as $102,000.

Urton reported the street department has evaluated two street sweepers with one he described as very promising. That one was recently used to clean streets prior to the Missouri Day Festival of the past weekend. Urton says one other street sweeper is to be evaluated and then a recommendation will be made to city leaders.

Urton reported the cost was about $1,300 for repairs made locally to a Tiger mower and tractor, which is much less than anticipated.

Councilman Glen Briggs reported the city’s long-range planning committee has selected a general theme of bringing jobs to Trenton.

Mayor Nick McHargue complimented Jeremy and Cindy Soptic for the recent car show cruise in Trenton.
