The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce has set the 13th Annual Community Pride Clean-Up Week for April 30th through May 5th.

Chamber Ambassador Jeanie Griffin says that the Chamber asks volunteers to focus on cleaning up the community by picking up debris from the streets, parks, and personal properties. She says the Chamber will use the adopt-a-street approach. Anyone wishing to adopt a street for the clean up should call the Chamber Office at 660-359-4324.

Chamber Ambassador Sharon Barnett notes many groups, organizations, businesses, and individuals have already adopted streets for the event. She says the ambassadors and the Chamber board will meet the evening of May 2nd at 6 o’clock to clean Ninth Street from Main Street to Lakeview. Barnett encourages anyone from the community who would like to help to join the ambassadors and the board.

Jeanie Griffin says the Trenton Street Department will provide brush disposal at the city maintenance building on 16th Street May 5th from 9 o’clock to noon. Sharon Barnett adds that Rapid Removal will also provide a dumpster, however, she notes the location will not be announced publicly because it is used by the various groups helping with the clean up to put their bags into.

Anyone who has trash bags and has no other way to dispose of them can call the Chamber Office, so they can be picked up. Barnett notes no stoves or fridges will be accepted as there will be no recycling of appliances at this time.
