A traffic stop in Livingston County on Thursday resulted in the seizure of suspected drugs and the arrest of a Bolivar woman.

Sheriff Steve Cox reports deputies arrested 37-year-old Renee Lynn Haynes for alleged possession of a controlled substance. A warrant was subsequently issued by the court charging her with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Haynes was transported to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail and was scheduled for arraignment in Associate Division of the Livingston County Circuit Court today (Friday).

A deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 36 around 1 o’clock in the morning, and K-9 Zaki was called to the scene upon suspicion of further criminal activity. Zaki gave a positive indication of the odor of a drug or drugs in the vehicle, which resulted in the seizure of suspected prescription medication, drug distribution items, and marijuana.
